Acer Predator X34 best G-Sync ultrawide?

That's all great and all but damn did you see the price?!?!? $1499 usd for the good one. And hell while I do love me some Dell monitors, that is just way too much more than the comparable competition.

Don't worry!

Dell deals, coupons, fake EPP, and Ebates will bring it down :)

The manual is posted for it: http://downloads.dell.com/Manuals/alienware-34-monitor-aw3418dw_User's_Guide_en-us.pdf

But still no listing on the Canadian site...

And it seems the X35 has been pushed to Q1: https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2017/8/30/16221888/acer-predator-x35-gaming-monitor-specs. Not a huge fan of the stand design either, it won't sit very far back on a desk.

Arrrggggg, man this is a difficult choice. I mean keep waiting like I have been for the HDR panels, or wait for that Dell Alienware one to hit Canada, or screw waiting and order the Acer X34 from Costco for $1357.99 (price till Sept 22). I am so tempted to get it through Costco since they do have a 90 day return period.

Man I just want a g-sync ultrawide panel so bad. Honestly if any of the Costco's around me had that monitor in store I would get it today.

Oh hey, anyone with the X34, can you tell me how far apart the front legs are? I'm trying to figure out if it will fit on my limited desk space. Thanks

Legs are 22 3/4" apart in the front. Edges of the panel are about 4 1/4" past the outsides of the legs. Front of the legs sits a little under 12" from the rear leg.

At that price and the return policy I would pull the trigger. It is a sick panel and I see no reason to move from it right now. HDR would be nice, but the price will be ankle grab for sure. At the Costco price you would take a small hit if you decide to trade up.

Thanks for the measurements. Now I know I will still be able to fit it and my keyboard on the desk. And yea, I'm thinking I will pull the trigger. While I am still thinking about that Dell/Alienware one and the future HDR ones, at the very least I should have a better idea of timeframes before my 90 day return is up. And plus Costco does sell Dell monitors now so maybe I'll get lucky and they will carry it.

While I still think my current 27" IPS is a great monitor, it just doesn't hack it for games anymore. I want something to really match up with my 1080ti sli.

Ok dammit, that's it I'm going to order it.

You won't be disappointed I don't think ipaine. I love mine.

And if you're worried about the stand and space I would highly recommend what I did: inexpensive monitor arm. I have this one VIVO dual monitor arm. Supports up to 22 lbs per arm.

I have it offset and it get my X34 in the centre and reaches far enough to support my 21.5" monitor as a second screen in portrait. Very pleased with it. You could obviously go with a single if that is all need, just for the X34. Sure the cheaper arms are more set position and leave it, not like the gas ones, but that has been working super fine for me. Where I am going with a 34" ultrawide anyway?

I ordered one aswell before the cutoff date. Let me know how you like yours?

Going to see if i like it and probably sell my current ultrawide in the meantime.

Feels crazy that its almost double the cost of my dell u3415w with similar specs except for refresh rate and G-SYNC.

Has anyone looked at this monitor before? AOC Agon AG352UCG

I am also in the process of looking for a wide-screen monitor, and right now am torn between the ACER or ASUS 34" monitors. Looking at the AOC monitor (a brand I have never heard of), with the exception of the max 100hz frame rate I think it stacks up well, and is priced a little lower.

Arggh...such a tough decision to make..

It's a good monitor. They use the same panels as Asus and acer, mind you they use A and B+ grade panels. Afaik the stand is pretty crappy in comparison.
