yep, it's definitely out to get us. Waymo had to issue a recall on their robotaxis after two of them crashed into the same truck. first one didn't get it done so the second tried to complete the 'hit.' LoL!

I saw a headline about a phone that will have a 1" sensor and use AI to help maximize using it. that made me recall the article about the lady trying on a wedding dress while standing in front o f a couple mirrors. she had her hands clasped in the front, which showed properly for the mirror she was in front of, but the AI got mixed up and showed her arms in a completely different position in the mirror reflection adjacent to her.

so my brain pondered that for a few moments and realized that if there was any sort of information that a government or powerful corporation / organization wanted to suppress, they could simply send out instructions / commands to mobile devices out there so they would get 'mixed up' and not show what was real, what the truth is.

so not quite out to kill us, but definitely a threat for a possible dystopian future... :(

It's a human vs digital perception of everything. With such a strong reliance on electronics (phones, cameras, media) vs the human perceptions, we take a lot for granted. People are more connected through devices than their own senses at times; we don't always live in the present while 'connected.' Just stand somewhere where you can watch people driving - they're focused on things other than driving - eating, on cell phones, music cranked up, etc. It's a lot easier now to be distracted.

The other big issue for me is that we don't know where & how AI is being used in the digital world. Isn't a day that goes by that there's something about AI. From the various AI authorities that have written about AI, they don't know what it's doing either. This isn't so much the direct fault of AI, it's the people directing AI to various purposes. The Internet now, is a much different place than it was 20 - 30 years ago. AI is going to accelerate that.

Could explain why Elon is suing OpenAI, I think there's a lot of AI developments happening behind closed doors that we don't know about.

Sounds like OpenAI partnered with Figure and they've "uploaded" the AI to a humanoid robot recently, and that it "learned" how to operate a coffee machine.

"Devin" has been abuzz as of last night, as it's able to write software like a human would, debug it, update it according to prompts, even sends you status messages as it "works".

Starting to see a lot of AI-generated photos being used in advertisements. Some that are outright fake, I saw one example where it had the Toronto Star logo and a headline which did not exist about a person being arrested. We are certainly being manipulated now.

I saw a Forbes article saying they found a bunch of AI-generated celebrity nudes on eBay for sale. Of course, they reported them to eBay and they were removed, but I'm guessing it's just the beginning too. Who knows, maybe the Forbes article was written by an AI ;)

I think the next 5 years are going to be very transformative.
