From GN's report it seems like ASRock had more reports due to an instability with too low of a voltage for some CPUs that would result in what many people were assuming was a failed CPU. That is known by ASRock and seems to have been addressed via a bios update.GN Steve has a video on failing 9800X3D .

The actual physical failures (based on what GN gathered) seems to be a very small number that are spread across the MOB vendors (single digit numbers of physical failures across tens of thousands or more 9800X3D that have been sold). Likely a situation getting blown out of proportion?
