Ben Affleck is the New Batman, Thoughts?

Name 1 good movie he was in?

The Town & Argo.

And people were more WTF when it came to Heath

People were exactly the same way about Ledger. Doubly so, because he just happened to have played a gay cowboy too.

and he did the role justice for the type of set Batman was just like Nicholson did with his version.

And maybe Affleck will do the same for Batman. Just like Ledger, we won't know until it hits theatres.

Look at what affleck did to daredevil and that is why people are upset.

Because actors clearly are the only thing that make a movie and not the directors, producers, and writers! It had Jennifer Garner in it. Using your logic, she's complicit in making it bad too.

tl;dr Stop being mad nerds.

The town was over-rated....and ARGO...seriously?! That steaming pile of shit? If you had said gigili - as it was a good spoof even if it wasnt meant to be - OK....by Arog. Ugh. Its pretty bad when a B- and turd are the best someone has done. :S

And yes Jenny 'horseface' Garner turned in a piss poor performance too. She made a mediocre movie into a steaming pile with no real redeeming value. Should have used Ultraviolet and Milla J as your counter point...as at least that was watchable :P

But I agree...it could be worse. They could have casted that pinko commie Matt Dammon as the batman. :)~

Meh. Finding it hard to care. Batman, Superman, Ironman, Spiderman, X-Men and the rest of the superhero universes are now way overdone and starting to get tiring. Then again, I was never a huge comic fan so I'm just speaking as an average movie goer.

I actually like the Avengers I think it is becasue I always liked the personality of The Hulk and how he really doesn't like Thor
as a kid ( I am talking early to mid 1970s) I liked Iron man because in the comic that a friend of mine had it showed that he had troubles with things like Alcohol which to me made him more human then other super heros

Chris Nolan, where the hell are you? This is just a bad dream right? I'm going to wake up and Christian Bale will be back (as he should be) and YOU will be writing/directing this. Why? Cause Snyder can't hold a candle to you in terms of ability.

You know, i would think Clooney could make an awesome nick fury but i'd have a hard time deciding by anyone. My inner fanboy-ism may very well land me unable to truly decide.

I always thought the guy who played the General from Avatar would be a great Nick Fury. I'm fine with Jackson though, and usually I can't stand the guy.

As for Batman, I'll wait and see. Daredevil would have stunk no matter who starred based on all the other factors in the film and I'll give Affleck the benefit of the doubt. I haven't seen most of his movies, so I'm not going in with much of a preconceived notion of him. I'll also second the Michael Keaton comments. He got a lot of flak as a comedian taking on the role, and I thought he was a great Bats. (Personally I also really like Nicholson's Joker). If the movie gets received as 'good' I'll check it out, if not I'll skip it. Life goes on either way.

With the right script and the right directing/producing I think any half-decent actor could pull it off (just like Cavill playing Superman). Affleck is a half-decent actor so he should be able to pull it off. Its just a question of whether it will be a great performance or not, guess we'll have to wait and see.
