I am looking for a semi portable Bluetooth wireless speaker that I can take around to work sites with me, and use in the shop/ home. By semi-portable I simply mean I want to be able to carry it around with one hand. CNET has the Bose Soundlink III, Sony SRS-BTX500, and the Jawbone Big Jambox in the top three.

The most I am willing to spend is about $350.

I have the small Jambox, and it works great. Lots of sound, holds a decent charge. The only thing is sometimes it has pairing issues.

UE Boom mini. I have one and its amazing. The sound is clear, VERY loud and the bass shakes the table. They also have an app that let's you pair 2 together.

Aye. I have one myself and it's pretty nice for the $100 price tag. Running 2 together lets you put them in stereo or dual mono. I would imagine the larger one ($200ish) would sound pretty good too, and be easier to carry around than two minis.

Futureshop in town here has the big one. I might go look at one today and give it a try.

$100 is what they go for? I paid $25 for mine

Not sure if they are the best, but I tried the soundlink mini, and it gave an impressive sound. It is much better than the Sonos in my own opinion. I havent liked much the Jawbone either. The JBL charge II seems to be a good containder. I don't like much its design however.

About the Soundlink mini if you compare with its big brother the soundlink III, you'll find that the difference in sound doesnt make up for the difference in price (roughly 100$).

Also in the not so portable, in the higher price range, I would like the Harman Kardon Go + Play. Sounds is great, very good bass but still well balanced sound.

I wish I could hear the HK Onyx, but no shop has it in my vacinity and considering your price range its way above it...

I have a couple of UE Boom non mini's and they blew me away for type of packaging they are. There is an app to run them in stereo with a dinky equalizer. They are great, I haven't played with any other but got these at a decent price and am happy.
