discussion BFG 8800 GT Overclocking

I just replaced my ATI 1900XTX with a BFG 8800 GT OC, I'm not sure if I'm happy or disappointed. The BFG is only 30% faster than my 1900XTX overclocked.
To me it's not that impressive at all.

For some reason I can't OC the BFG, I've tried AtiTool, Ntune, and RivaTuner.
I can get the clocks speed to change, for some reason it doesn't effect performance, I continue getting the same numbers OC'ed as stock.

Am I missing something????

With Riva Tuner what did you set your clocks at, did you un click the link clocks.
what was your score on 3d06
and 30% faster is good.

I set the clocks to:
Core: 700
Mem: 900
Shaders: 1566

The link clocks were unclicked

Whats your 3d06 score @ stock versus OCed?
I'm betting your cpu is bottlenecking your card to some degree.

I agree with Supergrover, that your AMD cpu is bottlenecking it.

And that's in stock mode and OC mode

Same here.. and we have pretty close machines.
