Looking for options. My sons friend has officially fallen off the map for gaming on computers. Here are the specs for the game he wants to play currently.

Subnautica 2 requires a 64-bit operating system, at least 12 GB of RAM, and 50 GB of available storage space. For a minimum 1080p/30 FPS experience, you need a GTX 1660 / RX 5500 XT GPU and an i5-8400 / Ryzen 5 2600 CPU. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Obviously I'd like to hit a little higher than this. I've spec'd a computer on memx at $1200+ which isn't gonna work for me right now. I'm shocked at storage and ram prices, fuck me.

What I have sitting on the shelf currently is a MSI 1080 12gb and a Ryzen 3600.

Just seeing what's out there as I haven't seen a full system posted here in a while.

3600 is better than the 2600 by like 20%
1080 is better than 1660 by like 20%

So that is a jump up from the minimum specs though not likely to be a solid 60fps. If you found a 5600 or 5800 instead of the 3600 would probably hold 60fps (1080p being more CPU bound anyways)

Any idea what you're willing to spend?

Pending an ongoing purchase, and testing my intel whitebook in the roll of Gym PC (and a price/reality check) I might be looking at selling my current Gym setup (B550 / Ryzen 5600 / RX 6800 / etc in my sig). That's still very tentative though.
