Calling Ottawa?

im def down for a lan.. but you know mw2 is comin out on tuesday....
but ya cod4 lan ill def be there. Ill be established in ottawa on the 24th, so anytime after then :P

so.. a little offtopic but since you guys are from ottawa, figured you might point me in the right direction. Just moved here and need a new source for well priced parts, and good selection. Any recommendations?

well there are a number of smaller independents. But if i am buying something locally i usually get it from either one of 3 places. (who ever is cheaper).

Canada Computers (2 locations, i go to the one on merivale road near costco)
RBC Computing (out in bells corners)
PC Cyber (tons of locations in the area. i think it's around 5 or 6)

other than that i usually just order online.

YESSS thanks so much. This is great having excellently priced parts within a 10 min drive, rather then having to wait 2 weeks for ncix to ship to pei.

soo... lan party? not sure how mw2 will work for lans, but im done for cod4!

Surprised there isnt much going on in terms of lan parties here. Lots of posts! So does lanopolis still happen every year? I checked the u of o website and didnt seem to be much info on there.
I have a 24 port 10/100 and some cables, whos down for mw2/cod4 lan?

Argh I just played a match for the newegg mw2 tournament. Mw2 is a complete joke for tournaments, no demo functionality, iwnet issues connecting to some people, host ping advantage, no punkbuster screenshots, and im pretty sure one of the opposing players was hacking. Fun times!

Your switch is 24 gigabit? Im jealous, my netgear is 24 10/100 with 2 gigabit

ya it's pretty awesome. For me on a normal basis i don't really need all those ports but it's nice to have them in a pinch. It was also the best/reliable solution i could afford. (would have loved a cisco but i also like having a car). gotta love the prosafe stuff though. if bell wasn't throttling dpi i would have a netgear prosafe router in a heart beat.
