Mike (SKYMTL) used to sell review items and donate the money to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. This was while being the review editor was a side gig for him. The other reviewers were allowed to keep the items they reviewed and dispose of them how they wished. When he quit his day job he apparently decided to focus on the revenue-producing part of the business and hasn't logged into the forums for years. Gav still logs in to check on things. And now you all know everything that's been said publicly before.

Focus moved to youtube. It's where the money is, and traffic here is negligible. At this point I'm just thankful they've still kept the site up and running. I don't imagine the hosting is expensive, but there's still a cost and they could have killed it off with the switch to youtube.

I and also thankful and fully agree this is probably the only site ( and longest site I have stayed on) that I come to on a daily bases for many things and have been here for around 15 years
