Engadget: Intel Arc A750 and A770 review: Trouncing NVIDIA and AMD on mid-range GPU value.

seems legit and unless Nvidia changes it's play of releasing only top end RTX 4000 cards and have the 3000 coexist, they may find themselves outclassed.

if AMD doesn't hesitate and goes full RX 7000, then Nvidia and Intel may find themselves both in trouble.

Weird... I didn't watch/read a lot of coverage, but what I did seemed unanimous in saying they wouldn't recommend these cards in their current state. This seems a very different slant on things... 🤔

I think driver refinement among other things will help Intel ARC over the longer term. The cards probably were still released too early to market, but its understandable because they probably wanted to calm the rumor mill of the project being cancelled ect that were swirling around.
I'm not saying it will be a drastic improvement, but will probably normalize over time.

For me, I am just happy to have 3 players in the market to stir up competition and hopefully competitive pricing.

Agree. Everything else I have watched/read basically says there are lots of random issues, don't be a beta tester (unless that's something you enjoy), and the price is too high (not necessarily against nvidia cards, but vs AMD).

I wonder why engadget is taking a different stance...

This is not limited to Intels new GPUs, there are early adopter issues with practically everything tech. That being said, I'd propbaby wait for gen 2.

If there's a gen 2 that is. MLID is reporting his retail sources are not getting any Arc cards anyway and appears to be only a big retailer big bang sale to get rid of chips. Once it's done, med to high end Arc is dead and we will not see an Arc dGPU in the near future. I'm surprise Engadget say it's good value when all the benchmarks from somewhat trustworthy sites are reporting the opposite.

Don't get me wrong, I was very excited that Intel was going to be the 3rd player. But after independent reviews, I don't see why I would buy one when it cost similar to 6650XT and AMD drivers seem to be more stable.
