EVGA GTX 980 Ti Superclocked+ Review Comment Thread

Same here. I have a MSI 980Ti Gaming 6 on my (other) testbed and it is a retail sample...and is chugging along at the same speeds other reviewers said it would. Havent done OC'ing yet...but in this day and age I truly doubt any major company would be that stupid.

Any chance you guys will be reviewing the Zotac 980 ti AMP! Extreme? I have read one review and it sounds promising but I trust you guys a lot more.

I got my GTX 980 Ti Superclocked+ earlier this week and I must say, the improvement over my GTX690 is a lot higher than I expected.

Far Cry 4 runs amazingly smooth now with the settings cranked all the way up too. Same goes for GTA5. I'm running 3440x1440. Before both games would tend to stutter at various points and I also had to turn down settings to more of a "high" profile rather than an ultra/very high profile.

Only marginally related to the 980 Ti, but I thought I'd avoid starting a new thread for it;

So Nvidia's next manufacturing is the 14 nm chips expected 2016/17 from the last roadmap I could see. I know they're working on NVlink for servers, has there been any rumors of changes to the consumer cards and the SLI config? I don't remember seeing anything but thought I'd ask (out of curiosity more than anything, those cards are obviously a long ways off).

FYI for people who've been mulling a buy but sitting on the fence; Prices are already on the way up from release and the dollar just fell again :S

MemEx is now the cheapest for this model with a backplate at $884.99, everyone else is already charging over $900 and we'll probably see another drop in the dollar with the Bank of Canada's spiel on Wednesday :S.
Don't take this as you should go out an buy, but as if you were going to wait another week or two, it might not be your best bet.

Pascal is going to be early 2016. Not 2017. It has already taped out and NVIDIA has prelim samples in-house.

I can't wait. I'm torn between getting a Skylake now and waiting to see what is offered once Pascal is out as far as motherboards with NVLink support. I know you'll be able to use them with standard motherboards, but if you have motherboards and CPU's that are designed with NVLink support (like the IBM Power9), they are even more evil. But I'm not sure if that will happen with Pascal or if we will have to wait for Volta to come out in late 2017/early 2018.

Looks like the plunge in the dollar finally bumped the last of the 'release pricing' on the 980 Ti. MemEX was the last to have it at 869.99 afaik, as late as last week. Now it's 929.99. Won't be surprised it it bumps up again in a couple weeks :S

Think I'll do my W3 playthrough and maybe another modded skyrim run then sell my Titan on ebay and wait for the 1080 GTX next year (or whatever it gets called).
