If it's a walmart exclusive there's no reason to think it's anything but trash. I expect these to be an example of the worst Acer builds; cheaply made, flimsy and with poor specs.

I think you're probably dead on...Gateway has been a budget brand for as long as I've known of it.

I remember Gateway being nothing but overpriced garbage with monthly payments to lure unsuspecting victims into overpaying for a computer that was obsolete before they finished paying it off.

Depends on the ODM I guess but yeah at that price I expect it to be pretty poor. Their Eluktronics based ones are pretty decent I think.

Wasn't it Gateway computers that had a bios "Call Home" routine that disabled the PC if the account was in arrears?
