I don't usually bother with 3d but I will with this one to see the new 48fps. Probably in early January to avoid a crowded theater. Some movie critics are saying the new format is worse, I don't get how making a smoother movie could be worse but what ever. Who plans to go ? and are you going for the movie or the new tech? I am 70/30

We'll be going some time before christmas, but most certainly are not going because of the tech. Both my better half and myself wear glasses and don't enjoy the 3D experience, but unfortunately if we want to see this movie in a theater (and we do) we'll have no choice but to go to a 3D viewing.

I still refuse to see movies in 3D. Waste of money IMO. Give me 4K in a cinema and I'll start paying the ridiculous prices they charge. 3D? No thanks. Even at 48 fps.

Yup being blind in one eye and wearing glasses for the other isnt fun for 3d.

I might just wait till a dvd/br release. Going to see what like minded friends say of it before I commit.

I see the movies in 3d if they were made for 3d, That said I go to the theatre less then 4 times a year, This will be the third movie I have paid for 3d. The first being Avatar and the second being Hugo.

My wife is a huge fan of the LoTR movies so not attending a movie screening isn't an option that's on the table. :)

I think we've gone to one fairly recent 3D showing, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. Wayyyyyy back in the day when we were dating we went to see metalstorm 3D which was one of the '80s 3D movies full of cheezy effects like sticks being pushed out of the screen.... we didn't like it all that much back then either. :)

LMAO

Yeah I am a big fan also started reading the books almost 30 years ago now, have all the supplemental books out on the bookshelves. If I do go it will probably be to one of the local older theaters screenings since while the sound system and video isnt as good as the modern it has nice comfy almost lounge seats and isnt at that supersteep angle that theaters now seam to use for seating...... plus the popcorn is better.

The fiancee and I both hate 3D movies, especially the ones where it was done after the movie was shot, making the rest of the movie dark and hard to see everything that's going on in it.

Only time we go to the movies ever is on the half priced tuesdays or the Costco card passes you can buy that makes it essentially the same price of half-price tuesday

What tec do they use ?

I don't have 3D vision now will I be able to use there tech to see in 3D ??
boath eyes work but no 3D :(
