HP Touchpad....its still a decent tablet

If you're having battery drain issues look into flashing the A6 firmware. I get -6ma drain on mine in standby, and it lasts probably about 14 days before needing a charge while on standby. With light usage (its just kind of a quick web browser when you're in the sitting room) I get about 10 or 12 days out of it.

I am already running the A6 firmware i believe. Will check when i get home. I checked the CPU speed and it running @ 1.5Ghz so I may back that down a bit to 1.2GHz and see what happens.

I'd suggest reflashing it anyways. There is some kind of bug with it where it'll ramp up and drain. Worth a shot.

Strange thing is that when it's in StandyBy mode it's fine for battery drain. Only when im using it does it really drain a lot.....or at least more than what it did when it was running WebOS.

Graveyard bump. Anyone still using one? I bought one during the firesale but I already had other tablets so I never really used it. Found it yesterday again. Powered it up and it was running 4.0.3. I've upgraded to 4.4.4. There are Marshmallow and Lollipop builds available now w/ a newer kernel that is supposedly snappier. The problem is I can't figure out how to upgrade TWRP to the newer versions. I have 2.7.1.0 installed right now and would like to upgrade to 3.0.2. Anyone done it? I'm use to using fastboot for other devices but obviously that doesn't exist for the Touchpad. I've tried using adb w/ "adb push uImage.TWRP /boot". It doesn't error out but it doesn't actually update it.

EDIT: I think I see my issue. Forgot to mount the Boot partition.

EDIT2: If you'd like to update info is here.
[ROM] Evervolv | 6.0.0p1 [AOSP Marshmallow 6… | HP TouchPad

Download the newest TWRP Recovery, Evervolv rom build, and gapps. You'll need ADB on your computer. Reboot the device in to the recovery. Mount the boot partition. Extract the uImage.TWRP from the zip and place it in the ADB folder. Then "adb push uImage.TWRP /boot". Reboot and reenter the recovery. You'll then need to repartition the drive for F2FS, so everything will be deleted. Instructions are on the link above. After that copy your rom and gapps via USB and flash as normal.
