Howdy,

There was a yard sale in my neighborhood this Saturday.
One guy was selling a lot of OLD computer parts 99.9% JUNK, total old stuff like beige cases, ATI rage II pci cards, Soundblaster 16 and stuff...

BUT, I dug thru all that stuff and found a Athlon 64 3000+ S754(fw/factory heatsink) on a ASUS K8V-MX (IGP), with 512meg of OCZ PC2100 ram...

I payed 5$ for this combo. LOL
Anyway, could it be HTPC material? I mean..running any version of Linux and what it takes to play media files? I got an old case+PSU, a 250GB drive and a few fans...can I do stuff with that?

Would work just fine, Not sure about 720p or 1080p video but just Standard Def should work just fine

if you want 1080p you might need to look into grabing something like a 8400gs pci version then use Core AVC to use the cuda enabled card to do the 1080p decoding
