Is a 2.5gb network card worth it (on a 1.5gb connection)?

Thanks, I'll check. card

But it just seems like outside benchmarks, the actual internet (to my computer) just isn't running at anywhere close to 1.5gb

Well, no. Your connection is sub-par for some reason. I'd say first try your motherboard's LAN and if it's reporting somewhere over 900 Mbps then you know it's something going on with the 2.5G card. If your motherboard lan still reports the low(ish) speeds then there's something going on with your PC and you should check with another PC.

edit: Just to be absolutely clear.... this is an internal network card and not a USB model? If it's a USB model are you sure you're plugged into a 3.0 USB port (Blue)?

What are the specs of your computer? Notably the CPU model and whether or not you have a SSD.

These faster internet plans typically need a fairly recent computer to be able to fully utilize them.
