LG Intros Optimus Pad Tablet

the Asus eslate thinggy is pretty neat, but expensive. And who wants to drag around a bluetooth keyboard?.

That Asus tablet is exactly what I want. But I don't want to have a separate keyboard, something on screen would be nice
.

what's the problem with the keyboard, it's an accessory an option, you don't need it, on my part I will like to have one to input a lot of Data when I'm home and live it at home when I go someplace to simply use the touchscreen one.

The problem with typing anything on a tablet is that it sucks; you'd want to attach a keyboard, and then you might as well have a laptop.

They really just need to provide support for a projection keyboard, something like this. Then again, I've never used one so I have no idea how accurate it would be. It's also a little more expensive than I'd like.

I had a good portion of this discussion with MAC the other day, but I'm really not impressed with the direction tablets are taking.

I was hoping for a tablet style netbook with a real OS that could replace my aging P4 laptop, but it appears that the tablet manufacturers (other than ASUS) are marketing it more as a "Smart Phone with larger Screen" than as a PC with smaller screen. Instead of a low power PC with full windows functionality, we're being offered $400 - $600 4G internet browsing devices that will require either a monthly subscription or the purchase of many apps to get reasonable functionality.

I want something I can slap W7 onto.

My sentiments exactly. :canadianwave:

I have to say if I had to buy a windows 7 tablet the ExoPC would be my choice. It's got some good specs, good software and the company is based in Quebec.

The Asus 121 one is touch, stilus, on screen keybord, stilus and blue tooth keyboard.

All these come at hefty price. $

agreed altho lenovo might come out with one amazing contender at an affordable price ($500.. fingers crossed)
They went with a digitizer from china instead of wacom or n-trig which might save cost.

regarding the new htc tablet, i really like it but 700 is still too much money for a slate that is meant to compliment your notebook/desktop.

those looking for a win7 tablet should check that, IMO it's one of the best tablet out there....just not coming from a big manufacturer

ExoPC - ExoPC Slate

+1 for pc in a tablet, not a big smartphone

That's on my short list, but for me the downside is the atom proc.... I'm really hoping for something with a bit more umph.......... (but not an i3/15).

I know... Picky, Picky, Picky........... :)
