tpus and guru3d's cards were not limited by the 109% power limit.

although every single retail card was.

tpu uploaded the bios so you can get the 120% power limit though.

We receive retail cards from board partners. This is something I insist on EVERY time.

Lately the only exception to that was the Zotac 980 Ti which was a pre-launch sample with a slightly different backplate.

Also, the fan speed over time Y axis is mislabeled as temperature. over 1000C! :D


and the legend is incomplete for the 1440p battlefield graph. And Dying Light.

That's really odd. The info should be updated ASAP tonight when I get back into town.
 
It's a pretty solid card, all things considered. Silicon lottery of course will dictate OC headroom more than vendor choice.

A 2 slot cooler was never going to be able to keep up with the 3 slot Zotac solution, and the Zotac was OC oriented, so I expected it to run a bit warmer compared to the Amp Extreme.

The other good thing about MSI is their RMA is here in Canada (Markham, I believe). They have pretty good tech support.

I can't wait to see what the MSI 980Ti Lightning will look like.
