Hi, this is my new build. Feel Free to comment.

Mobo-Asus maximus IV extreme
CPU-i5 2500k
Ram-Corsair vengeance CL8 2*4GB
HDD-Vertex 3 120GB (Should i add another for Raid 0?)
Graphics:3*XFX 6950 1GB
PSU:Corsair 1200W
Case:Corsair 800D
Monitors: 3 Asus VE278Q for eyefinity

Also going to watercool CPU and GPUs.

EK supreme HF and vga supreme HF
XSPC triple rad (Will an EK 140mm triple rad fit on top of the 800D?)

Triple HD6950 is overkill and a dual Crossfire HD6970 would be a lot better although a dual HD6970 would not outperform a triple HD6950. Dual HD6970 would already give you slightly more performance than a HD6990. Also with a HD6970 dual Crossfire you wouldn't need a 1200W PSU.

I am wondering where is that third PCIE coming from when there is only 2 PCIE link to the CPU at 8x8x. I'm guessing it is going through a 3rd party controller since it is rated to run triple Crossfire/SLi at 16x16x8x. I wonder whether a bottleneck might exist with so many GPUs.

I don't advise to add another SSD at RAID 0 because if I am not mistaken a SSD with RAID would disable TRIM support. A single SSD is fast enough already.

If you do have that much money to spend on this rig then I would suggest getting a Core i7 2600K instead as it is essentially a Core i5 with HT and a higher performing binned silicon so it is made into the Core i7 2600K.

fancy...:)

why not a sabertooth with 2 6950 2gb to boot?

overkill psu, even for 3 6950's...perhaps one hx 850?

yes

300-350 watts for two,stock clocks

150 watts for the system, stock clocks.

do the math :)

Apparently you didn't "do the math" based on how much wattage 2 cards consume...

Also since your budget is $infinity, why not the 2600K and 16GB of memory?

:thumb: +1

I was going to say that. You're going to crossfire 3 good cards but your slightly bottle necking your CPU don't you think? :blarg: You need to spend some time researching the parts you'll need for "optimizing" your setup for what you're planning on using it for, rather than simply blowing money on a setup that clearly is just for bragging rights, I'm not trying to be an ass, but 3 high end VGA cards and an i5?? Why not i7, hell, why not a 980x?? Just saying.

Oh and incidentally, can play Crysis on my rig (nothing compared what you're suggesting) on High with a 30fps average. and I've been playing Crysis 2 with 60fps average. Again, just saying.
