Question for XS members?

they activate everything by 'hand' now.

pretty stupid idea if you ask me for how big they are and the fact the security verification things work pretty good.
first time they gave me that stupid message 'do not meet requirements' and they deleted my account after a week - i've read something about using a hotmail or yahoo account isn't the best...

registered again with the exact same nickname except used a 'paid' domain name email address...after a week i got another "activation required" email and then a few days later they authorized me.

it's the only forum i have ever seen with this message...and i've registered on quite a bit.
stupid if you ask me.

I think I waited for over a week, and that was using a hotmail addy. I ended up having the hardware in hand I was going to ask about before they let me in.

Actually my age is multiples of 18  My friend is about 24-25. I got a reply telling me I didn';t meet requriements from an admin, he just visited and discovered his account was gone. we both responded to the activation e-mails and got responses from the websites. Me to my own domain, he to his gmail account. In answer as to why join - because we were interested in the topics and subject matter obviously  As I said, not mad - they are entitled to manage their board as they please - we were curious as to why and I only asked here as I noticed at least one nick form the other board here. Oh well. :blarg:

So why not just use a different e-mail (log in on a different computer... different IP), and use a different nickname.

Well to me at least that seems pretty pointless. I registered with a real e-mail at an actual domain, and replied to all the requirements presented, what's going to change? Their posted rules/requirements re pretty basic and very straightforward. Maybe somebody hard a bad day/week. Anyway, I can still read, and this is a friendly place so I'll get settled in here and hopefully be able to usefully contribute. On another note, my RAM is still backordered for another 2 weeks :(

I thought I'd give it another try. I have received my activation e-mail and have dutifully visited the link. If a member of XS would be willing to pop over to the User Activation thread at User Activation - Page 6 - XtremeSystems Forums and put in a word I'd appreciate it. I'de really like to get in on a couple of discussion threads there, especially the one about my motherboard.

I got the same "do not meet membership requirements and we deleted your account" e-mail from fugger@xtremesystems.org again. Looks like an automated reply. I know of at least 3 other people that have gotten the same rejection. I must say they seem quite an elitest bunch when it comes to new member signups. They could learn some lessons from these forums.
