Rants etc.....

So I'm contemplating maybe moving up to a smartphone: Blackberry 10 or Galaxy Note II and the cheapest plans are about 40-45 bucks a month with the major carriers. I noticed these plans only have 100-150MB of data. Now I don't expect to be streaming videos on my phone, just using gps, maps, email, going to HWC that sort of thing, but wow. It's 2013 and 40 bucks a month only gets you 100MB? Am I missing something or are us Canadians really :censored:ing stupid for paying these prices? The smaller carriers have roughly the same prices, but at least you can get unlimited in some cities with carriers like Mobilicity. :angry2:.

If you don't need a smartphone right now, it'd be worthwhile to keep your finger on the pulse of the 'budget' carriers like Koodo. That brand had a $30 deal last year that included 200MB of data, plus CID/VM and unlimited text. A new promo is probably coming up in the spring, if you can wait.

RedFlagDeals' electronics 'hot deals' forum is often a good place to check every so often for good wireless plans.

See, I don't get headaches from Real3D. I actually quite like it (when the movie is shot in 3D, not that stupid post-processing crap)

BTW, loved The Hobbit in 3D and 48FPS

It depends entirely on the person I find. I watched Immortals with my wife in 3D and it made me dizzy as heck. But for her she was okay.

Its situational at best,

Just had a National Home Services tech show up at the door and lie through his teeth about everything. He tried saying that the installation application form was just a "report card" on how well he did and that I would not be signing up for anything... Despite the fine print which basically stated that I was agreeing to them coming to install a new hot water tank and an outrageous monthly fee. I called their number from the website and complained about the tech (a lot of good will come from that I'm sure  ).

Time to call everyone else on my street and warn them. Sadly I saw about a half dozen signed forms in his clipboard.

Depends on the movie, but I've had 2 give me headaches and since the fiancee wears larger framed glasses it's hard for her to wear the 3D glasses overtop of her own. Not to mention some 3D films are darker in the background making it harder to see what's going on half the time

Just saw the Hobbit with my wife who'd never seen a 3D movie and thought it was "Scary" (the 3D part, not the movie lol). We went with another couple and one of them apparently can't even see the 3D and the other gets headaches from it. I tend to notice where the 3D'ness falls off around my periphery and that bugs me the most. We sat in the middle of the theatre (left to right and front to back) I think next time we will try the very back.

I thought Avatar was awesome in 3D but Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter, Beauty and the Beast, and the Hobbit I really didn't care for in 3D.

Just to expand on this: she's totally that hot nerdy looking glasses girl too :thumb:

I'd hit it
