Rants etc.....

I meant people who are buying stuff from my off of kijiji.

Hopefully this is the last move until it's into a house that I'll be owning...

Holy crap the local moving company I'm using through North American.

Call me up today at 4pm saying they are coming for 1pm pick up tomorrow....uh I asked and was told 8:30-9am pickup when I booked it. They said there is nothing they can do about it since it's 4pm. Why did you call me so late in the day? I asked for head office number, filing a complaint and having head office sort it out. Either they are getting my move time fixed, discounting me for the issue or I'll be filling a BBB complaint...

Moving companies always seemed a bit scammy to me. The only reason I haven't had many problems with them is that all my moves have been done through DND which always kept them on a short lease with both relatively strong contract language and active inspections during the move which could result in being blacklisted if not in compliance.

My freaking lord!!!!!!! MSI's live update has so far taken 10 minutes to download less than 50% of a 177MB driver update......... so much for convenient software. :)

Corporate office in Canada was useless, spent 45 mins to tell me that there is nothing that can be done, no compensation for the time delay and costs I get to pay when it comes to unplanned meals.

Just like banks, moving companies are crooks...

My rant of the day: Storage capacity lies

4,000,000,000,000 bytes does not equal 4TB.

4 trillion bytes when calculated out is 3.63TB which is what my recent HDD proudly displays as storage capacity. Yet the label on the front of the drive plainly reads 4.0TB.

I am not sure how or why this is even legal. I have 370GB less than the advertised capacity.
This huge reduction cannot be due to formatting/partitions etc.

I realise they have been using this wrong practice for years but as drives get larger, the disparity between claimed and actual is also increasing.
