RTX4070 Reviews

Be a nice option for a smaller custom loop build because the block for that would make the card pretty compact!
A waterblock on that would honestly be amazingly small and really compatible even with a lot of tiny itx cases. I could see it specced out on a lot of micro builds.

I really don't understand this card at all. I bought a 4070ti for $1049 at launch because of all the hype over ray tracing and nVidia features. That was already an insane price to me, even with it being a 'high end' GPU. I can't fathom paying nearly the same price for a 'budget' ccard in a 4070. Nobody really touts the 4070ti as a good value, but somehow people think the 4070 is a better one? Maybe I'm just skewed in my thoughts since the CAD market is so messed up in it's pricing.

All that said, I'm glad I held on to my 1080ti as I just didn't see what all the fuss was about with ray tracing. I ended up switching back and returning the 4070ti as I game at 3440x1440 and there's nothing in my minimal amount of gaming that the 1080ti has given me any trouble with. Sure, it might struggle with CP2077, but I've never played that and I'm not all that interested tbh. But I play Hogwarts without any issue at nearly max settings without ray tracing and it's perfectly playable.

I actually wanted to buy a 7900XTX, but WTF is with the pricing on those cards!? $1500? That's a big nope and is definitely killing my options to switch to team red. I may end up doing what I did with the 1080ti and waiting an extra year or two before buying in the used market again. I'm just not interested in lining the pockets of either company with these incredibly stupid prices. Back when parts were skyrocketing due to covid, they had an 'excuse' to jack their prices. But now that parts are plummeting in cost, the GPU market is still riding the jacked up pricing for max profit. It's a disgusting 'profit first' mentality that I can't get behind.
