2 Germany sites reviewed the China only (so far) RX 9070 GRE. TL;DR, pricing is between the 9060XT and 9070 (non XT) and performance sometimes is worst than 9060XT and having 4GB less VRAM is a problem in RT performance. Looking at prices in HK, an ASRock RX 9070 GRE is $4.1K HKD which is about $720 CAD. The cheapest RTX 5070 is a GB Windforce SFF at $750 that's about 10% to 15% faster.

(saw the article on Videocardz but linking to the original review)

Thread revive!

GN got their hands on a Yeston anime waifu edition and posted a review video. Checking the prices again in HK, the ASRock Steel Legend is up 10% to $4.5K HKD. Yeston RX 9070 XT Sakura OC is at $5.7K HKD.

I'm not going to start another thread. VCZ is reporting a possible global release of the RX 9070 GRE, they spotted it in a system integrater's website.

EDIT: checking prices in HK again, ASRock version is $4.5K while a Sappire 9070XT 16GB is $5.9K. So that's $1.4K HKD diff which is about $230-ish CAD difference.

AMD’s lineup segmentation has been kinda messy lately. The GRE cards are interesting, but pricing always seems to make them harder to recommend outside specific markets.

AMD's tactics seem to be first send all the defective-ish chips to secondary markets but then failed to price them accordingly. Using Jumbo Computer in HK because they have GRE for ordering and using the cheapest unit I can find on their site:
  • ASRock 9060 XT 16GB Challenger = $3.5K HKD
  • ASRock Steel Legend Dark OC 9070 GRE = $4.5K HKD
  • Sapphire Nitro+ 9070 16GB = $5.3K HKD
  • Sapphire Pulse 9070 XT = $5.9K HKD
Using that pricing structure, the 9070 16GB is worth the money because that's only $800 HKD more which translate to under $140 CAD difference and you get a faster GPU and 16GB vs 12GB. Assuming the convert rate reflects CAD retail closely, the GRE is $795 CAD. The cheapest 9070 is $850 so the CAD retail for a GRE has to be less than $710 but more than $550 (cheapest 16GB 9060 XT).

BTW, $5.9K for the Pulse 9070 XT is about $1040 CAD, BB is selling it for $1K before tax. HK has no tax but when you bring it in, you get taxed so the $40 diff is moot.
