Better sequential speed sure. But I bet it won't come close to the 750 in terms of small file random read/writes.

Ordered the Intel 750 400gb 2.5". Warranty is important. Plus it was on sale at Canada computers for $469.

As for more about the drive with regards to performance Storage Reviews did a review of this drive.

I for one can't wait for more of the NVMe drives to start coming out. Just love the performance jumps over the standard sata drives.

Storage

Well I just got my Samsung 950 512gb and I'm cloning drives now. It took al of about 10 mins. to do a long (winded) lol, format of the drive.

The Plextor I have 256gb takes about the same time. 770/580 vs 2500/1500.

Going to run some CrystalDiskMark once done just for fun!

Then I'll try rating my system again using that UserBenchMark. Last time I ran it I had 95% in the hardware with the 980 ti kpe.

Plextor will go bye bye as well. Might use it on another pc.

I think I'll keep my old OCZ V3 120gb drives for my test bench. 1 for the 970 system 1 for the xeon, and I'll use the last for my AMD setup.

SSD Speeds

Okay after running a few different benches I found the speed coming out of the M2 slot is much slower.

I saw almost a gb/s difference in read speed vs the pci-e adapter.

Anyway, here's a few results, which are all of my drives on the benching rig after I took out the plextor.
:thumb:

Almost forgot, hardware with the 980 kpe is 94%. I'll throw the ti in later.

If I recall correctly, that's just 2x 3700 series put together. Essentially a brute force solution. For clarity, the Intel 750 was derived from the 3700.

I just picked up my new laptop today and a 250gb 950 as well :) I can't wait until I have the time to play with my new toys and hope it feels as fast as it sounds.

SSD Speeds

That's just a single SSD, I'm more curious to c what's coming down the road in the not too distant future.

Quite likely blow these current bad boys right out of existence with their speeds....

For now I'll just enjoy what's running my rigs.

Besides i think I can find a much better use of $9000 or so. Standby generator,....Xeon,....BEER !!!

That's it !!! BEER ! lol Okay maybe some decent whiskey too.:haha:

Which PCI-e adaptor are you using? My dad has one for his 950 but he's only able to push up to around 1400-1500 read.
