ok ill prob keep my quadfire then
BUt one thing im uncertain of is about the Longevity of the X58 Mobo's
if i get a, say EVGA x58 or asus p6t, does that mean i have to get new boards when newer core i7's come out?
like the octa core that is going to come out in a year
Im not sure because even if some CPU's have the same socket the Mobo Chip doesnt support faster versions or smaller nm versions
anyone know about this?
also did some calculations
it would cost about $500 - $550 to go from
Q6600
Rampage Formula
4gb 1066mhz dominators
to
Core i7 920
X58 mobo
6gb dominator 1333mhz or 1600mhz
