I actually did think about the spoilers but figured since I am giving nothing about them away it kind of skirts around the spoiler bit. The funny thing is I couldn't tell you how I ended up in the situation to meet them in the first place, totally forgot what got me to that neck of woods. I do know the mission certainly did not say come on down and meet FDR.

I'm going to try to go through and get the main story missions done this weekend. Have to balance this and CP2077 and well it wins once Phantom Liberty drops, so got to get the main done here before then. I will certainly come back though, even if just to screw around and explore space and built game breaking city sized ships.
 
And my Monday Morning Obligatory posts about this game.
Finally made my 4th Ship in my ever growing fleet. I will probably make 2 more customs and then leave the rest for captures or quest rewards.

Did a few more side quests, found Amelia Earhart as well and she is now my Pilot (I was so backlogged with side quests that I only got to that one now lol)

Its been a fun weekend!

Heads up guys, I found a rather obscure bug/glitch that can force you into the endgame when you don't want to. I have not finished it and did not continue so when this happened I posted it in the steam forum but there's a specific scenario you have to be in for this to happen. No spoilers here and I'm sure you've all collected artifacts by now.
In a nutshell you collect all the artifacts and are storing them on your ship but do not assemble them (so that you can still fly the ship around) . How it happened was I still had the Crimson Fleet storyline to do and I had a huge fine to pay with them so I put it off but since I had nearly 1M credits I decided to do it and pay them. I'm glad I did because it's interesting!

Their first mission gives you the option of taking a free ship and when you do take it and return to their base you can then recall your last flown ship from their ship manager. Since I had the artifacts on my last ship the game automatically assumed I wanted them assembled and as I called in my last ship it initiated the endgame cutscene. I immediately reloaded my last save and learned you can board the new ship and disassemble the artifacts if you are tracking the last mission (it highlights the ship's control panel, something I did not find earlier).

edit realized after I wrote this that maybe i've said too much, but basically don't collect all the artifacts before you've done all you want to do. Aplogies to anyone who has reached this part.

Needless to say I was slightly disappointed this happened and I hope no one else has it happen, though it is a rather unique setup.

No... not beyond the first one anyway... lol

That is a curious bug, and like you said, specific conditions to produce it but that doesn't make it any less of an issue if you are not ready to go to endgame. Thanks!

Does the endgame cutscene happening actually prevent anything? Can you still just continue with other missions, exploration, base building, whatever, it just finishes the main storyline?
 
I have been playing around with a new comp betty howser , also today now that I get the gest of this game I am going start start from scratch fresh toon I am not suir eif I need to back up my save like if this will over right my saved character this charter finally bought a decent ship the narhwhal pretty tanky I am terrible at building any thing in this game so I just save and buy . but this new toon I am going to do my best to not do the main quest until i have top so many other side quests to build my character

This I don't know, but I'm sure someone out there does. I can't see it blocking us, that would be like a big middle finger from Bethesda. But I'm not looking it up either, I've already seen more than I wanted to see at this point, even though some might consider it to be minor. Hope I didn't say too much earlier but it's kind of hard to describe. There are other ways to store the artifacts so maybe that's the safest course of action.

Have you played the game Quantum Break? Collecting the first artifact reminded me of a certain moment in QB, so I highly recommend if you or anyone is into this sort of thing to play QB. I'm a big nerd in these things and there's a part in QB that gave me shivers when I played it, I won't say any more.

Oh those weren't bad spoilers at all I don't think! Thanks though.

I haven't played QB... hmm. Another one I need to add to the collection!
 
I will get a better picture of it at some point, but I unlocked new engines , reactors and weapons by passing level 50 last night.
And of course that required me to make a new ship, but I did something totally different (and finally found a good use for the Overseer Cockpit that I enjoyed.

This thing, turns on a Dime, and can go stupid fast for how big it is (plus it has 1600 in Shielded Cargo). Its my new hunting ship.
It also cost me 495K Credits to build. The Engines were 67K each and it has 3 of them.
