The Hurt Locker wins Best Picture at Oscars

The hurt locker is a good movie but not a great movie. Avatar is a good movie but more of a visual experiance than anything else. Will be playing games with avatar graphics in 5-10 years. Distric 9 should have won something. There were a lot of good movies last year but I don't think any of them get to hold the great title. Most of these movie we won't be watching again in ten years. Possibly Distric 9 and Sta Trek in ten years but that's bout it.
 
Wow, lots of mixed opinions here. I think The Hurt Locker was over rated, it was really boring and weak, terrible story, etc. I don't know how it won best picture... or how critics liked it.

I liked Up in the Air a lot, even after seeing it 3 times.

Both Up in the Air and The Hurt Locker were "Like it or Hate it" movies though, so I think the fair winner should have been Avatar.
 
If Avatar did win Best Picture then the Academy would have to rewrite history and award Pocahontas & FernGully: The Last Rainforest a couple of statues. I'm just sayin'...
 
I wonder how The Hurt Locker can be considered overrated as it was an independent and low budget film. All the rave came from the reviewers. One thing I liked about it is that the story is somewhat different from all the war movies I have ever seen, it actually put a person to the story rather than yet another story about a war
