The HWC what you listening to Thread

One of those aircraft with no windows, lawn chair seats and no sound insulation to speak of...?:)

I remember the first time I listened on a Walkman. It was a wow moment. Something about reducing that volume of air you're trying to couple energy into. I really like the etymotic in ears I use.

Not quite, but back then the military was still using the venerable 707 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_CC-137) as their primary passenger aircraft so while it was a step up from the cosmo, it wasn't flying in the lap of luxury.

The flights on aircraft with no windows and lawnchair seating (mostly hercs) came later in my career for deployments. :)

I like The Kings too! They got into airplay rotation a little later, as I recall.

The world opened up when we got an FM station that played some different stuff back then...

Edit: As for April Wine, it's the three guitars cranking it out I think.

I had an LP copy of The High Road ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_High_Road_(EP) ) and absolutely loved it, but it's one of those obscure titles I picked up while posted to Germany that's impossible to find (and most certainly isn't on any streaming service).

Well now.... :)

It's still impossible to find, but according to the wiki all of those tracks are on the Heart Still Beating album, which in itself is difficult to find, but........

... is apparently a euro release that includes Heart Still Beating as one of the 5 in the boxed set...... :)

Maybe I'll be able to add CD versions of the songs from the album to my library instead of sticking with the LP rips I currently have. :)

It had been a while since I listened to the album, and my exercise session this morning reminded me of one of the reasons I love it.... My Only Love is a perfect example of what I like to see in a live track.... it ain't perfect, there's a few sour notes in the guitar solo, and some of drum accents are a tiny bit off. That to me makes a live track feel authentic and sets it aside as unique. (Kinda like that "pop" in the specific spot of your well used vinyl that turns that particular track into your very own unique version of the song :) ).
