The HWC what you listening to Thread

Wish I could get into the screamo/screaming metal stuff as I'd like a lot more music. Obviously there are some exceptions but for the most part just can't do it, otherwise I'm sure I'd really like that. Yes I'm aware of the irony as I just posted Mastadon :)

You know what, I feel the same way. I'm not a really big fan of death growl, but in some applications it's not bad or even really good. I find plenty of music where IMO the instrumentals are amazing but the vocals are unacceptable. Which is probably why I like instrumental prog metal so much.

Finding good music is very difficult. You either have good instrumentals and some emo pansy crying about days of the week or something(srs, stop that)... or the guy sounds like a horse.(Six Feet Under)
Trying to tune out the vocals does not always work very well in all scenarios, works best when you are listening to music with good speakers while doing something else.

I am not actually listening to this right at the moment but in the spirit of no lyrics here is something that is heavy, slow, and sloppy. It is from what I think is Bongripper's best album.

I've always preferred my metal clean and well produced.
Also have not been listening to this at the moment though IMO, or at least compared to the above, Karma to Burn counts as clean. IDK, perhaps my opinion is skewed but to me their songs sound upbeat while the notes are snug as bugs.

All of that aside, what I have actually been listening to lately are some newer Amon Amarth albums:

Picking just a single song is incredibly difficult!
