As the title says.. not in-ears, must fold up, up to $150~ from:

Comfort, decent sound, solid build(CANNOT be flimsy or easily broken.).. suggestions?

I was thinking the AKG K520 / 430, Urbanears Zinken, but have no experience of either.
They are to fit in a laptop bag so need to fold to a reasonable size and will be travelling on packed Metro lines and housed with a BOISTEROUS 2 year old.

Any other suggestions (from that site) are welcome.

Have you considered IEMs? They have the best sound isolation outside of powered noise-cancelling headphones. I use my IEMs more than any of my other headphones.

the zinkens is pretty well reviewed. Other options besides those mentioned ath k518dj, phillips downtown, senheiser hd 238. Can you go and test them out?

They are actually for a present. The guy they are for isn't an audiophile and won't be listening to FLAC or the like so they don't have to be super audio quality, decent will do.
Main thing is comfort and sturdy (remembering they have to fit into and not be damaged by being put into a slim laptop bag)

I don't have time to go to the retailer and try them.

He absolutely hates in-ears.

From reading up on the suggested above I'm leaning towards the Audio Technica. Pitty they don't have a lil padding around the top of the headband It's about the only big downside I see with them.
AKG's seem to suffer allot of cable failures (or snapped jacks). Just going on what I've been reading. Otherwise they would be perfect.

The Senn's look a bit on the bulky side. and generally I find they are expensive for what you get (though generally you do know what your getting at least) and are half the price of the audio-technica.
