Had Dana White not got involved and comply with the wishes of the 'Sanctioning Committees',the UFC would still be underground. At least now,those fighters are being paid a little closer to what they are truly worth. Have you ever been in a street fight that lasted 15 Minutes? I don't think it's ruined at all. Great entertainment! Having a Canadian champ is a bonus.

I have a forum for you guys, it's called Sherdog. Try it out. Koscheck is thrives off of animosity, but most of the stuff is really to hype up the fight. Fight is over, GSP won, Kos was humble in defeat, should stop bashing him like kids
 
Even when Koscheck took wrestling in school ALL his coaches said he was a dick and mouth piece and he had no friends( Seen in interviews leading up to the fight). What we saw of him is 100% him. Dana/GSP/Dickhead himself may say it was to hype the fight but that's BS.

Nope , but if you watch the first UFCs quite a few fights took well over 15 minutes.Dan severn vs gracie comes to mind. Then it was about the artform and training in your art. Not what you were getting paid.
 
I prefer the orignal format of the UFC.. where they would fight 2-3 times a night. Best person with least injuries won. I loved watching a little ju-jitsu guy fight a sumo wrestler and win.

But people saw it as street fighting, and "too brutal" - so they pussified it up with gloves, weight classes and time limits. Now it's more like the WWF.. complete with Vince McMahon (Dana White). All they have to do, is have Hulk Hogan come back.. with his theme song "I am a real american..."
They changed the format to be more appealing globally - and to be recognized as a sport.. but I still like the 'more realistic' brawl of the original setup.

And yes, I believe Koschek can be a nice guy - as I said, the events can be scripted in the UFC. It's scripted reality TV.. the worst kind. But yeah, he's cocky.. and probably has a mouth on him too - I just don't believe what i'm seeing is real and all him.
 
Who else watched it in Montreal i did and it was amazing... however before that was the Leafs vs Habs game and we were aboot to get into a fight with some Habs fans cause they were complete douchebags. But most of the Habs fans were cool. Anyways i believe i was at the Peele pub.

finally got around to watching it. some interesting fights, nothing major.

gsp played it safe,ok. i give it to the other guy for putting up with all that abuse though :)
