Hi everyone, I just got an i7 a week or so ago and started doing some overclocking recently. I managed to stabilize 4.2 GHz at 200 base and 21x multiplier (on a 950) at 1.3v flat. The only problem was when I disabled load line calibration and xtreme phase full power mode on my P6X58D-E. I left the voltage at 1.3v, but now vdroop is making it so that the CPU gets 1.26-1.27v idling and 1.24v under load, which makes it fail OCCT within seconds. Should I bump up the voltage to compensate, or just say screw it to Intel spec and enable the vdroop control?
Also, my QPI is set at 1.275v right now. I originally tested it at 200 MHz and 1.25v, which worked fine because the RAM and CPU were separated (underclocked), but I ran into stability issues and gave it 1.275v to make sure everything would run well. Should I bother lowering that voltage closer to 1.25v, or should I not?
Thanks
