What is your highest q6600 overclock?

I'm at 3890, 1.46v. On water, stable for over a year now. Stays around 38c everyday use, tops out at 55c after hours of gaming.

Try and confirm that your temperature sensors are functioning correctly; those temps seem way too good, especially for a chip with 1.7v applied to it. Try coretemp or realtemp as well, but I think HWMonitor would be displaying it correctly. Also, put a thermometer in your room and make sure your CPU doesn't idle below the temperature of your room or something like that. It could be that you got really lucky and got an awesome chip for overclocking but something just seems a little off. You might want to try dropping the voltage a little and see if it's still stable. I don't really have any OC experience though so you might want to wait for someone else to chime in before you change anything.

I'm impressed! Try some other temperature monitoring programs... Speedfan is what I can think of..
1.7v.. you're nuts for even doing that lol

I chickened out at 2.8. At that point I had to keep upping the northbridge voltage to get stable and my mobo is notorious for hot northbridges so I called it quits.

Q: What are you basing your voltage on? BIOS? Or that CPU-Z screenshot. The latter isn't necessarily reliable. But if it's the former, as long as you're aware that you're rolling the dice each time you use the chip at that kind of voltage.

LN2 Voltages!! ...actually....I think that is still too high for LN2!! LOL....better turn that down a little...your G0 chip should do fine on <1.5V and that is ONLY when it is ON H20!! Be careful!
