Whats your latest purchase?

Now that my exterior doors have been changed, I'm going to start shopping for new windows. The doors look great, make the entrance so much brighter.

I was going to do the windows next spring, as I'm currently doing the doors, furnace, water tank (yeesh.. getting it up to code is EXPENSIVE) and ac drained my home reno account decently lol

Just bought a new exterior light for the front door. Some cool designs.

Changing the doors has really got me back into putting some time and $$ back into my place. Been too complacent for the last few years.

I finally got around to setting up a music corner. I bought myself a new vinyl stand so that my records wouldn't just sit in stacks, but would instead look like an integral part of the decor. Now my collection is perfectly organized. I relied on 1StopBedrooms reviews for guidance regarding build quality and customer service; in the end, everything arrived in pristine condition and fits into the room beautifully.

If you have the option, get the UV film or tint put on. You'll thank me later.

Agreed the UV tint on the windows has helped my house a lot.
Is the tint mostly to keep your house from heating up in the summer? I doubt fading is a big concern inside of the house.

I'm familiar with the privacy film, but not the UV stuff.

The stuff I put up is privacy + UV. Makes the house cooler than without. Also helps stop the headlights of cars at night from shining thorugh my windows due to how the house is positioned to the road.

Edit: Also helps with glare on screens. I used ot have a blackout on the window near my desk. Put the tint in place and removed the blackout.

lol tinter will be at my place in 35mins. Going with the bronze reflective tint 20%. Even without tint they are really hard to see through.

When I do my windows I'll do the same on the two front windows, they get the most direct sunlight.

Edit: I'm nuking that front landing next week...

did you have them tinted before buying or was this an after purchase upgrade? if after, what did you use?
I did it all myself. It can be tedious. Gila "Privacy Control" on everything upstairs except the sliding door and 1 window at the back entrance as I used a fake stained glass film.

All the basement windows I used an obfuscation film that makes it look like frosted glass so some one cannot just look in the basement but let's lots of light in.

Sample picture of dirty window can see the reflection of the shed better than you can see inside and blind is half way down.

Windows have to be super clean and any pets you want out of the room while applying etc.
