What is the difference between the wired xbox 360 controller for console and pc? Are they compatible with one another? I've googled, but some say yes, some say no. Has anyone here used the same controller on their console as well as their pc? Thanks.

I use a Wireless controller with my PC, as long as you have the USB receiver you're good to go.

Works great, I use it for racing and action games most of the time.

I'll vouch for the brand new xbox 360 controllers working on PC. Ya know, the fully black ones that came out when the new 360 was released last summer?

Wired controller, plugs right in. I mainly use it for Assassins Creed Brotherhood, which has a control profile setup for the 360 controller(to be exactly the same as on the 360), but you may want to get, I think its called, Xpadder... Lets you map keyboard presses to the controller.(Should be a freeware download)

I've used the 360 controller with no problems on my PC. The wired one plugs right in and the wireless one requires a USB receiver. It also happens to be the best controller I've ever used on a PC. No PC specific controller has ever come close for me.

The controller should be in sometime this week. It's a black mad katz controller. $18 shipped. The guy had about fifteen refurbs.
