Steam announces three new products: Steam Machine, Steam Frame VR and Steam Controller

Sadly out of price range, but it does make me reconsider streaming a game from one PC to another via Steam, wired of course. Anyone tried recently? I haven't in ages... Wonder if those old steam link mini boxes still work...
I stream everything in the house, over ethernet. No issues after switching to Apollo/Artemis.

I have one of the steam link mini boxes somewhere, but they're limited to 1080P 60hz IIRC and not as flexible as the Shield TV Pro (which admittedly is limited to 4K 60, but that's fine with me)

Valve has apparently hinted that their pricing on the Steam Machine to be more in line with PC builds, rather than competing with consoles. So my guess is the price is going to be closer to $1000 USD. (RAM prices may skew that a bit.)

I'm FAR more interested in the VR headset than anything else in the offering. Hoping it'll be around $1k CAD, but I may be dreaming.

The VR headset is the first time I've ever even considered a VR headset. The options before were never very appealing.

Either chonky cords, or a dismally underpowered cordless version. Other have *barf* meta integration *barf*, or prices were too high coupled with one of the two aforementioned issues.

But a 'No Zuckerberg' set, that can function wirelessly and still have PC powering the video, that's actually a little tempting. The overall VR library is still not that enticing, there's a few I'd likely enjoy, and a lot of shovelware, but I may consider this one.

Honestly facebook free version of quest 3 (non-s) which is kinda what this come accross as would be very high on my wishlist. I hadn't even considered that there was no meta/facebook integration
