LTT Truespec Cables . Cables that are able to preform up to spec .

I don’t see them on their store page for pricing, but I am going to assume it’s a hard pass due to cost.

Now if I needed I high end cable for something specific I would trust this more than most/all brands, but given all of my cables are used for 10-40w charging and moving pictures around every now and then, it hardly justifies more than functional cable pricing.

Remember when HDMI first became a thing and when Home Theaters were first becoming popular and the sales staff at places like Future Shop and Best Buy would try and convince you to buy 'gold plated' Monster audio and HDMI cables that were 10x the price of a normal cable.

I assume this is basically the same thing and Linus has entered FS/BB levels of trying to grift customers. Not surprising given the type of person he seems to be.

I would tend to agree somewhat except that he has show in the past that certain cables don't in fact meet their specs. Now, if you want to pay an inflated price, like many of us did for the stupid screwdriver, then by all means, but you can still get cables that meet spec at better prices. You can see some of them in their own videos here:

Another for irony:

Uhm, that reads as though YOU bought one of their screwdrivers..... if that's indeed the case, please do enlighten us as to why you referred to it as "stupid". I've thought about getting one a few times, when they've had it at a reduced price, mainly because Linus has made the ratcheting & magnetic abilities of it sound appealing, but just haven't found it quite appealing enough to pay that much for a screwdriver.

They are fantastic screwdrivers. The only issue with them is cost. I've used one daily for work for 3 years without issue. Bought a 2nd for home use about a year later.

LTT screwdrivers look pretty decent, but yeah, the price is a bit much.

I've been using picquic screwdrivers for 15+ years.

I have no idea if these cables are going to be preposterously priced, but I would guess so purely based on almost ALL decent cables being stupidly priced. As @FreeKnight mentioned earlier, that's been a common thing in retail for ages. That said, it's not like LTT are going to be the only place overpricing cables. I'm not defending them or anything; I just think they'll be yet another decent quality, but high priced item in the LTT store. (Don't get me startd on what he's charging for a backpack.)

@Cannon Fodder , I have two of the LTT screwdrivers (one that stays at the house and one in my to-go bag) and I actually quite like them. They aren't perfect, but they ARE often the ones I reach for before anything else. That said, I bought both of them on sale when they offered them cheap as a 'mystery color' (I got black/green in both cases) and I paid $50 CAD each. At that price, I'd say they're still a bit overpriced, but not terribly so. At the regular price of $90 CAD, I'd say they're not necessarily worth the price just given that there are a LOT of great options for that price or less. Although it's all personal preference.

Bit of a rant here...

I've said this before: I don't understand the hate that Linus gets. I know he's not for everyone, but I've met him a couple times back in the NCIX days and he always seemed pleasant enough. No different than anyone else of his age, just getting by in Vancouver. I'm sure that time and fame has changed him a lot, and naturally you become a bigger target the more fame you have. I get that he's made mistakes along the way, but he does typically come around and correct them. Also, owning a company and having the responsibilities that come along with that creates a MASSIVE amount of stress, and can definitely harden you over time. Nobody ever appreciates the sacrifices it takes to build something and get it off the ground unless you've been there.

I get that LTT isn't for everyone, and that's totally fine. Just the same, a lot of people here like Steve from Gamer's Nexus, and I'm not really a big fan of his. His reviews are fine, but he always seems so focused on negatives and slander reporting, which is ironic given his beef with Linus. Also, he's not a professional journalist, yet he markets his subjective views like they are from a position of authority. BUT... that's my opinion, and it's fine if that's different than anyone/everyone else's. I'll still watch specific vidoes of LMG or GN if they cover a topic I'm interested in, but I don't really 'follow' anyone in particular.

They are ok. But not for the price. Not when you can get a picquic for much less. It's on the same level of these cables. No ratcheting screwdriver is worth $100 and I am incredibly dissapointed that I paid that price.
