BenQ RL2460HT 24" Gaming Monitor Review Comment Thread

$288 for a non 120-144Hz non 3D ready monitor. when you can buy basically any of their xl24xx 144hz 3D ready - strobe tech ready - 1-2ms low input lag monitors atm on ncix for 320-349$ "never ending sales" (i've seen as low as 300$ on surprise sales more then once) to me this seems like kind of a step backwards. your saving 40$ essentially vs a easily argued much better monitor XL2411T 329$ BenQ XL2420TE - 349$

The savings are there yes but are they worth it? 1-2ms 60hz screens have been on the market for quite awhile and it makes me wonder if having physical buttons is worth the premium over the 200$ 60hz 27" benQ with 4ms gtg that i bought over a year ago for my guest pc that seems tbh perfectly fine for fps ect with solid low input lag and no ghosting.

I've played on it as have many other gamers who stay here a few times a month and none have complained about input lag or ghosting or any of the apparently "Solved" issues that the BenQ RL2460HT solves. and its 88$ cheaper and a 27" screen.

the 4ms screens they have @ 24" can be had for 150$ which are probably the same thing as the 27" i have just smaller.

Personally i tend to wonder if they have just plain run out of things to market and now are just scraping the bottom of the barrel.

What would have been nice to see is them drop the pricing on the 144hz screens to 250-280$ instead considering they have been sitting on their current price points for over 2 years now.

Or perhaps even instead of having 3 different 24" 144hz monitors on the market slim it down to 1 single monitor at a reduced price point they might even see people buying them for triple or dual screen setups then to match the other monitors they have.

Don't forget ASUS VG248QE 24" (non-G-sync) is a 144 hz legitimate gaming monitor selling at around the same price (~USD270)!!

60 hz gaming monitor?! What a joke! It's like Godzilla without his atomic breath, namely Zilla!

Those things may be true but I have yet to find a 120Hz screen that can hit the color pallet I want and that doesn't feature a ton of backlighting issues. I have used this BenQ extensively and it's one of the better TN panels available, so you get quick response times alongside pretty good PQ; that's something the 120Hz / 144Hz screens haven't been able to match as of yet....unless I missed one.

So you can get a good response time now, but either have to pick the colors/backlighting of the BenQ, or the refresh rate of others...or go IPS and get even better color reproduction, but sacrifice refresh rate and response time. Does that summary make sense?

Pretty much, though some IPS panels still exhibit backlighting problems.

Another thing to note is the quick profile selection within the BenQ. It's pretty unique and really comes in handy.
