Witcher 3 - The Wild Hunt

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-witcher-tv-series-in-development-for-netflix/1100-6450112/

Apparently Netflix is going to do a Witcher TV show. Hard to say how this will go. They've had some gems in the past, but some real shit too on the Netflix originals line up ( that Hemlock Grove was the worst thing I've ever watched).

There's a lot of potential with the Witcher's universe. The racial dynamics could play fantastically (while conviniently avoiding the inevitable 'whitewash' controversies that the internet will froth over in a real world setting), and GoT showed that a fantasy universe can be done well, though it's less high-fantasy than the witcher in a lot of ways.

Expectations are really low, but I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

Well it can't be any worse then the Polish version of the Witcher novels...

Looks like 2 executive producers from the Expanse will be involved in this project along with Sapkowski himself.

I recently completed both story DLCs for W3, they were great, especially the 2nd one Blood and Wine. If anyone is wondering if they're worth it, no question. There's quite a few sales on it now too, got it for 50% off last steam sale.

I've been playing Witcher 3 with the DLC's and I have to say I am disappointed with the ending for heart of stone. I was expecting a boss fight and the ending definitely left open the possibility for another DLC. Aside from that though I've found the game to be excellent when using lots of various top mods and the graphics are amazing at times. Storyline and acting also seems to be very well done. At times I feel a bit overwhelmed since there is so much to do with side-quests or exploring.

So after playing more and more of Witcher 3 lately I have to say this is by far one of the best games I have played lately. I've played others including Battlefield 1, Doom, Fallout 4, etc... and I haven't found them as engaging or interesting as Witcher 3. It's too bad they stopped making DLC's or patches for the games as I find even with the GOTY 1.31 there are still some bugs and issues to be found. Might have to look for a community based patch mod. I also discovered the Script Merger mod which helped to solve some compatibility issues with various mods I've been trying to run (including jumping in shallow water).

So I finally finished the main story and I have no words to express it. I don't think I have played a game so intensively and constant like the Witcher 3. I absolutely love it (aside from the bugs here and there even with GOTY). I don't recall the last time I was so eager to replay the game with more mods too. The other game releases pale in comparison in my opinion even Battlefield 1, Doom, etc... Bravo to CD Project Red. If it wasn't for some bugs still present (could also be mod induced) I would rate it perfect. :thumb:

You're not done yet, there's still the expansion story line to continue too!

Yes, there is one problem with it, it has set the bar so high nothing has even come close since. Well at least for me.

Oh yea, the expansions are great. I mean Blood and Wine is as big as lots of games out there.

It reminds me I have to continue playing now that I have a rx 580 in the HTPC instead of a gtx650ti!

Did both Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone already as well. There was so much to do with Blood and Wine in Touissant. I also chose the fairy land tale path with Sayana for the Vitis and Toussaint Relic armor. Now that I found a few more mods I am sure it will be even more enjoyable. I just started New Game+. It's amazing having the Blood and Wine witcher mutations carry over into New Game+. Currently using the following armor and weapon set:

Aerondight
Geralt of Rivia Sword (also have Vitis for backup)
Toussaint Relic Armor Set
Geralt of Rivia Crossbow
Exploding Bolts

Also have several potions/decocotions for attack (succubus, leshen, etc...). Have in total about 30 mods currently active and looking to add about half a dozen more. Too bad I missed the steam summer sale otherwise I would have bought Witcher 2 as well.
