Hello,
Case: MASTERBOX TD500 MESH (coolermaster)
Mobo: X570 AORUS ELITE

Been having an odd issue on PC startups mostly when I restart it. Seems that 1 2 or sometimes all 3 front case fans stop spinning after it boots through the BIOS though the RGB still works. (no rhyme or reason with which fan stops, any one of them can make it through the boot)

the 3 front fans came stock with the case and came with a 3 fan splitter pre attached. my rear fan which is plugged into another IO port always makes it through the boot but also stops for a second (corsair fan)

I have since swapped the fan connections with the splitter to no avail and have tried setting the front fans to PWM mode but they run super loud. I have a CPU_OPT connector that is unused, should i try connecting to that and see if the problem wont persist or is it a BIOS setting that is making this happen. the only thing ive changed in my BIOS is activate XMP

I thought this issue wouldnt persist after a BIOS update but it still has.

rest of PC:

Processor AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

GPU EVGA RTX 3070 XC3 ULTRA

Storage WD Black 1TB SSD

PSU Corsair RM 750x

RAM Trident Gskillz NEO 2 x 8 3600 mhz

Cooler Corsair h100i RGB pro xt

Maybe the 3 fans on one header are asking more power that the motherboard can give.

If you plug only one fan, do you have the same problem?

cant really test that cause the fan cables on the front are not long enough to reach the open port on the other side of the case.

but as for power once they make it through the boot sequence, if they do the fans will never stop and will run fine. interestingly, even if it goes to sleep the case fans turn back on no problem. i think that means its a BIOS thing? but i wouldnt really know

When thigns power up they typically spin everything at full power then ramp down to accomidate for temperature. Maybe the minimum speed is a little too low. Fans might be honestly starting to die too. Worn bearings, stretched fins etc.

I guess along the line of @Izerous comment, if you boot and the fans don't come on, or some don't, if you do something taxing on your PC that generates heat, will they turn on then or do they have to be on at boot to work at all?

I'm wondering if perhaps there is a fan profile set in the BIOS that turns them off at low temp and won't turn them on unless the temp increases enough.

if they dont make it through the boot sequence then they will not turn on ever. ill have to turn off my computer and turn it back on.

Just to be clear, are we talking 3 pin or 4 pin fans, and how many pins on the headers? (It's a new board so I'm assuming all of the motherboard headers are 4 pin PWM).

they are all 4 pin headers but the fans themselves are only 3 pin and the splitter is only a 3 pin
