Looking to upgrade an Intel 7700k system that has been my gaming rig for far too long. Budget is tight so I am reusing as much as I can but am open to a few extras like an nvme drive or WHY.
For reference a 5700x3d, good mobo and RAM would be the level of cost vs performance I'm looking for...
Starting off with a bit of a hodge podge (more coming). Due to one of my kids having an immune disorder we have tried several ways to get home schooling, socializing and entertainment done electronically and some worked out better than others. All items are OBO and I would actually much prefer...
Hello, I know these get asked for a lot, and I know what they go for on eBay etc but I thought I would see if someone had a 6700k collecting dust they wouldn't mind offloading for a reasonable price a 6+ year old CPU should go for.
I have a 6600k cpu I could trade for plus cash, before you say...
Hi all, I have been using tablets for reading comics, magazines and Netflix for years now and have found it strangely hard to find one that does these 3 tasks as well as I would like them to, 2 out of 3 is attainable but I want all 3 haha.
Android doesn't cut it because for some (infuriating)...
Hi y'all. I haven't posted a build on here in a while, 2 kids and going down to one income has that effect on hobbies I suppose. Since then I crashed my motorbike so I now have a bit more time on my hands and PC building seems less hazardous to my health.:bananafunky:
I am about to shake up my...
Hi all, I have a cobbled together PC I use for gaming made out of salvaged parts from other systems I have built or upgraded for people over the years and the GPU finally died for the 3rd time. I have a soft rule for this PC that it had to be made 100% of salvaged or super cheap parts, but the...
Hi, been a long while since I have posted. I am a "winter" PC enthusiast, too much going on in the summer.
I have a couple broke friends who I have been wanting to get in to PC gaming for years but they have no idea how to build a PC and are too broke to buy one pre-made. I am also far...
Hi all, I have had this issue for a few months, tried tackling it a few times. Interwebz searches show a bunch of people with the same issue but no real answers (my google-fu is admittedly weak sometimes though).
If I have a stereo source (like my kids xVid tv shows) and I set the win config to...
Hi All. I am sure none of you remember me but I was on quite a bit for a while back in the day (served in the core2 wars). Decided I am a PC gamer after all and dove back in.
I will put up pics in a bit but so far I am happy with my rig. Only 2 things bug me:
- I splurged on a Scythe Mine 2...
Hi all, it's been a long time since I have been active on here (for reference my last "enthusiast" build was a C2D 6750 based system). After that I had a couple kids and went fairly boring and gamed on consoles for the simplicity, but I got bored haha.
I built up a decent mid-range rig (I will...
I was going to put up for sale all my older parts after my recent refresh, but my parents wanted a desktop so I thought I would try to hunt down a mobo first (all I need).
- needs to support 125/140w Phenom 920
- I would prefer mATX
- DDR2 (4xDIMM)
cheaaaaap as I am essentially giving it...
I want to get a few more months out of my AM2+ setup. I am running a 7750BE at 3.1GHz so I am looking for something that will give me a noticeable boost, which probably rules out the 8xx series.
I was just hoping someone would be looking to help out a fella down on his luck (my new 6850 being...
Hi, I sold off all my old gaming rig stuff then found a use for it 6 months later (of course). I was thinking something along the lines of a 939 athlon 64 with a decent older gpu. I will most likely need a PSU too as the 250w in there is barely hanging in there with what I have already.
What I...
Umm wow, probably a price mistake but if any wants to do a group order I am in.

Will this damage the pump at all? I know its ok with fans, but what about pumps?
It is a DD CPX-pro, I have it on a foam pad with the rubber mounts, it hums above all the fans and vibrates the whole desk...
also the "3-pin connector" seems to be a waste of time, no RPM reading at all...
Hi all, I had tried this combo once before and got as high as 3.2 stable on air
Now I have it under water and I can get it to 3.4, but its still weird.
I can do all the way up to 3.2 on stock voltages, 3.4 by upping the MCH by .2V and the FSB by 0.1V but nothing more.
I assume this it the...
This pump has a 3-pin fan header, and all the lit says it is for "rpm monitoring" and I liked that due to being able to set a shut down if it failed.
It doesnt seem to work? Everything reports it as 0RPM, any body have this pump and it works?
I bought some off someone but they turned out to be for 5/8 tubing so no go, I really need some within about a week, (few days would be awesome). Just seems lame to spend $10 in shipping to get them from NCIX (I have an order with them, they just took so long to get a hold of that its too late...
hi all I have a 120 rad and a 240 rad, and am only running a chipset and cpu block for now.
My question is should I route it:
1) 240>cpu>120>chipset
or
2) 240>chipset>120>cpu
or
???
It seems on one hand that option 1 gives the cpu the coldest water cause its fresh from the 240, but...
A guy at work mentioned something as I was talking about how I am w/cing my rig.
"why not just run off the faucet"
And I got to thinking, hmmmmm. Irrisponsible, maybe, but would it work?
My cold water runs between 5-10C, and as that is much less than a w/c setup because there is no heat...
