That extruder is definitely facing the wrong direction IMO. In a perfect world it would be facing straight forward at something like a 45 degree angle. And IMO don't bind it hot end wiring. Not w/ a setup like that.

Makes sense, thanks for your opinion!
Do you think the extruder needs to be attached to a solid surface to work? Like could it in theory be hung from something, so it can move?

I just don't see much of a point to have it hanging. Not unless it is a delta printer or a CoreXY w/ an absolutely massive bed.

But, wouldn't having it hanging centered above the build plate reduce the amount "curves" in the bowden tube creating a more straight and shorter path to the hotend?

That is really cool!

10 years ago... would you have thought that you'd be able to print out what is essentially a plastic model kit car in your basement? (Let alone one what you designed and modelled yourself).

Nope! Not for one second man. Its too much fun! I cant ever see this getting old .

On a second thought does anyone know if theres anything wrong about making DIY stepper motor wire extensions? ie splice longer wires onto my existing wires, leys say using 18gauge wiring?
