I have not had any desire in a long time now. Do they have a blue pill for old time gamers who cant get in the mood anymore?
It's a challenge... I hear you. The pill would likely give you a headache anyway! :D

There are some good games out there still, but you have to wade through the bad ones, or go off recommendations here. That helps sometimes.

And... I'm off topic again. Back we go!

Use a macbook pro for work... the only reason i'd consider one of these for personal use is an ARM homelab, not a daily driven "desktop". Apple loves to force OS changes in a way that always breaks existing software. 32 bit support removed for example. I have to keep an older mac mini in my inventory of the office just to load older software / projects when they require updates.

Geekom is releasing a MiniPC with the X Elite and X Plus, soon. it's a bit more, and while the RAM is fixed, you can get up to 64GB. it also has two M.2 slots for upgrading your storage.

That would be a hard pass for me for now, unless it was priced very well. From reviews I have seen, they don’t seem that appealing as of now.

yeah...the performance gains in a desktop vs. laptop were terrible. with better cooling and higher TDP, it only went up around 11% with something like 400x the power consumption. >.<

the X Plus seems to be the sweet spot vs. the X Elite as despite fewer cores on the CPU n GPU, benchmarks are almost identical. and Qualcomm has referenced an even more entry level CPU coming to drive device prices into the $600 USD budget.

with time and software optimization the CPU n GPU core counts may begin to show, but only time will tell.
