I'm building an Alder lake PC as well. Still waiting on the DD5 to show up, I not going to go too crazy on the MB, I'm likely going to use the either the Auros Pro of the ROG Strix 690-F.
NZXT is shipping me a bracket for their cooler I just got from them for the Z73 I've got waiting.
It's just going to be your typical build, I have an extra 3090 waiting for it, I still have to pick a case, and I can repurpose the PSU I have in the 9900k box I'm going to be stripping, and also some drives and the PSU. The case is a 750D that has served for 3 builds now, and I'm going to pick a new case. Any suggestions for a basic/standard Alder lake 12900k build like this?
I have 2 5950k systems, but I still need to keep 3 gaming PCs humming (we take care of our niece and nephew sporadically and as needed, and both are gamers and need a PC while they are here for everything else). So this old trooper 9900k is going to fall on its sword for the new Alder lake. I've sold quite a bit of equipment here, always had great transactions here. I'll put up my 9900k/MB/Ram up for sale once the Alder lake stuff starts becoming available.
Love to see the builds that those in this tread are going to be building.
RJ/Shadow/others - what are the advantages of going with the APEX over the $400-ish Asus Strix/etc boards? As I said, this is going to be just your "regular type" build, but I don't want to have regrets about not being knowed-up and purchasing something I shouldn't have.
