I kind of want to do some modifications to some PCBs for my DDC pumps but this whole reflow thing is about my head. Anyone have any experience w/ soldering SMDs?

Are we talking something that needs reflow like BGA?

it may be best to just post a pic of what you need to swap/resolder

Honestly I am not sure a reflow oven is needed but I am no soldering expert. I just need to solder the components seen here on to the PCB AFAIK.

I have one of the PCBs ordered and maybe even try the toaster oven trick (although I'll need to buy a toaster oven). If I destroy it, o well, only $10.

I have equipment (soldering iron + smd tips) that would do it, but it would take a long time.

toaster oven / oven would be a lot faster...

That's a peice of cake with the skills and the right gear.
Of which I have neither. :haha:
This is when a hot air pencil would come in handy. They're about $200 on eBay.

Spending $200 on something I am going to use maybe a handful of times in my life is something I don't really want to do.
