audio/video stutter issues

it's an AV...apparently the web shield is known to cause glitches like this...but it was supposedly fixed some time ago and despite running a modern version, still have the issue. :blarg:

now I have another weird gremlin. my audio just randomly starts without any feedback from me. I woke up this morning to my PC playing both Star Trek and Spotify simultaneously. weird things!!!
