Best paint to use on metal cases?

Only other thing is you might want a self etching primer for the first layer. When you do and don't need it is a bit beyond my experience.

you know what i actually have 2 of these case i could test this on the other case to see how it works out with the self etching primer and other things i could experiment on that one first to see what looks and works best.

I think you're not supposed to use self etching primer on plastics, so that might be something worth checking. If there's no plastic parts on the piece being painted he should be okay, but if there's any trim, push pin connects, etc Shadowarzez will need to make sure they're removed (or carefully masked)

@FreeKnight all the pieces from what i can tell are all metal ill make note not to use the self etching primer on any piece is plastic like some of the internal parts that may need a coat. the front panel cover is plastic i think that ill make use of other paints ill wet sand the main areas first to smoothen it and to scuff it for adhesion and i just realized that means ill need to dissemble this beast.

lol but i suppose this should be the way to perfection as the ocd would kick in if i tried to do this with system assembled lol and with my luck trying to half @ss it id spray the motherboard or the gpu if i didn't do this properly.

Self-etching primers are meant to be used on bare metal. I have never used them on plastic, but they have an acid in them to help them grab onto the bare metal. I have never had a problem when using them on bare metal or sanded powder coats/paints. Just remember, if you're not super happy with the way it turns out, you can always redo it.

I would suggest you play around with your paints on scrap side panels or old junk cases, lol you 100% dont want to try this with your parts in the case.
