Calling Ottawa?

I'm in for sure as well, even if there's some cost it breaks down cheaply if everyone contributes! I also have a couple buddies who are likely to be interested in something like this(probably 2-3).

Agreed... I was talking with ChuckleBrother about setting it up, but I simply can't. I work full-time and I'm a full-time student as of August 4th, so I simply don't have the time to get one organized.

Someone needs to take the bull by the horns :) Pick a time and a place, we will come.

I am going to check with work here as we have a couple empty commercial suites in my building. I may be able to get us a very awesome gaming room that can fit about 50 people or so. Just have to ask the building manager. Only thing is we will need long tables and chairs. If I am allowed I think it would only be on a sunday we could do this. The manager is already gone home right now so I will have to ask tomorrow as soon as I come in. So let you all know tomorrow.

Also if we are allowed it is definitely temporary because it can get rented at any time.
 
Gotta rent... that way we can get a week-end, drink, etc. Or someone can host if numbers are "low"
 
Found out I could not use the empty space. So as Mr Kang said, we will have to rent or have a small one at someone's place. I prefer to rent actually as that will guarantee our allotted time instead of having a ticked off wife, girlfriend or whatever glaring at you for having people over playing on PC's all day.

Things we will still need...... Long tables and chairs. Now it so happens I have one heavy duty long table that can withstand an incredible amount of weight but weighs a damn tonne itself plus it does not fold. So the legs (two) have to be screwed on and off again. I also have a couple fold up chairs.

I know of one place we could rent but it is $250 for the entire day and night. You can drink there as well, plus it is private so the public is not going to disturb anyone. I know the owner really well and she has already okay'd it. So if we could get 13 people that will only be $20 a piece. So if you can list places you know of for cheaper it would be greatly appreciated.

thats awesome. One question though what kind of power can it handle and how many circuits. Also do we need anything extra like switches and such. (I have a 24 port gigabit switch i could bring.)
 
Well I have had a few parties (not LAN) there before and it has many circuits. We would need that 24 port switch too if you could bring that with you. I have only a 4 port switch and I am using it at work so that I could fold on my work computers too. So if we can get 13 people in the Ottawa area that will go and pay $20 we can get this booked and worry about tables and chairs as we go along. Also if there is going to be drinking I would like to state here and now that no 18 and under allowed then. I think the place is 18 and up anyway so it would only be cutting an extra year if we are having booze there too.
