I could not have said it better!Seems like a dumb solution for a problem that doesn't exist.
I'm a software developer, and I use the Caps Lock key everyday. There are some sequences of code that have to be written in uppercase. Also when writing SQL scripts it's best practice to write all commands in uppercase for readability. Taking the Caps Lock key off of a keyboard would be a major PITA for me and every developer where I work, and I'm sure a lot of other devs that work in case sensitive code would agree. If people dislike the Caps Locks key so much, just do a quick registry change to disable the key on the keyboard.
